Edmunds Maple Hill Farm sits on a hillside above a quiet dirt road in Barnard, Vermont. The herd of cattle grazes peacefully in the green pasture, and the rustic sugarhouse is tucked up in the woods above the house.

Bob Edmunds grew up in a family of maple sugarmakers and proudly continues his ancestors' maple tradition. He taps about 2400 trees and boils in a traditional 5'x14' wood-fired evaporator with no reverse osmosis.

The syrup that Bob makes is often quite light-colored. He credits the large sugar maple trees, the high elevation of over 1600', and the northerly exposure with his propensity for making Fancy maple syrup. It may be light in color, but it is not light on flavor!
