Pure Vermont Maple Syrup from Edmunds Maple Hill Farm
Edmunds Maple Hill Farm sits on a hillside above a quiet dirt road in Barnard, Vermont. The herd of cattle grazes peacefully in the green pasture, and the rustic sugarhouse is tucked up in the woods above the house.
Bob Edmunds grew up in a family of maple sugarmakers and proudly continues his ancestors' maple tradition. He taps about 2400 trees and boils with a traditional 5'x14' wood-fired evaporator with no reverse osmosis and his syrup is often quite light-colored. Bob attributes the large sugar maple trees, the high elevation of over 1600', and the northerly exposure with his propensity for making Fancy maple syrup. It may be light in color, but it is not light on flavor!
It is with great sadness to post that Bob passed away unexpectedly in March of 2025. He had spent the day doing what he loved: tapping maple trees. The maple industry has lost one of its best, and he will be sorely missed. Our hearts go out to his family.
